RIDE AND HAVE FUN
—H.O.G. Philippines Chapter
The aim in forming the Chapter is to provide opportunities for bikers to “RIDE AND HAVE FUN”, specifically, to ride and have fun with like-minded individuals who have passion for riding Harley-Davidson® motorcycles and the Harley-Davidson® brand.
Under the terms and provisions of the Annual Charter for H.O.G.® Chapters, the Chapter aims to promote safe and fun-filled Harley-Davidson® motorcycling programs for H.O.G.® members by conducting Chapter activities and encouraging participation in other H.O.G.® events. Also, the Charter requires that these activities and operations shall be conducted in a manner consistent with a family-oriented, non-political, and non-religious philosophy to develop a closer relationship between the Harley-Davidson® rider and Harley-Davidson® of Manila (H-D Manila).
Getting the numbers to join the H.O.G.® was purely a fun activity. The plan was to initiate H-D dealer sponsored rides, and to encourage prospect members to participate in other motorcycle clubs’ rides and activities in order to extend the
rising popularity of H.O.G.® among other riders of H-D bikes.
From the very start, H-D Manila has always extended its unwavering support through their General Manager (first it was Art Harrow, and then Jay Bautista) to hasten up the
cohesiveness of the group. Also, the dealer has made possible the availability of their Sales Manager to spearhead maiden rides that brought the early membership applicants (called probies) of H.O.G.® Philippines to various destinations such as: 1) Sit-n-Bull Resto, Olongapo City; 2) Dalampasigan Restaurant, Nasugbu, Batangas; 3) RECS Rooftop Resto, Cabanatuan City; 4) Bag of Beans, Tagaytay City; 5) Sol Y Viento, Caliraya, Laguna; 6) LindaMar Beach Resort, Iba, Zambales; 7) Yolanda Ride to Baguio—just to name a few. Through all of these early rides, the group had progressed steadily, acquiring the skills and techniques to group riding. More than anything else, safety has been strongly enjoined to everyone’s compliance.
